UDHAMPUR, Sept 29: 3rd District Open Table Tennis Championship, being organised by Udhampur Table Tennis Academy commenced, here today.
On the first day of the Championship, matches in sub-junior boys category were played in which, Daksh beat Vinit by 2-0, Ujjwal Sharma crushed Aaroham by 2-0, Ansh defeated Parveen Panotra by 2-1, Eklavya Sanmotra outplayed Barun Sharma by 2-0, Divanshu beat Anurag by 2-0, Praval Basotra outclassed Ayush Jamwal by 2-1, Archit beat Pratiksh by 2-0 and Saksham Mahajan thrashed Anuj Kumar by 2-1.
The matches were officiated by Ankit Sharma, Akhil Bandral, Purvi Sharma, Prikshit Khajuria, Sunny Sharma and Parul Sharma.
While speaking, President, UTTA, Kumar Tarun stated that around 150 players from every nook and corner of the Udhampur district are participated in this championship.
He added that that sports authorities should need to work on ground level for the better results in upcoming days and also appealed to the authorities to complete the pending construction work of Indoor Sports complex Udhampur.
The championship is being organised under the auspicious of J&K Table Tennis Association and District Table Tennis Association Udhampur, he said, adding that final matches and prize distribution function will be held on October 1.
