3rd Kalarippayattu C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Jan 31: 3rd District Jammu Kalarippayattu Championship 2020-21, organised by District Jammu Kalarippayattu Association under the aegis of Kalarippayattu Association of J&K, concluded at Kotli Bhawan Rehari, here today.
In boys under-11 (-38 kg), Darsh Bhat, Vinayak Gupta, and Rishiv got 1st , 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, whereas in -31kg, 1st , 2nd and 3rd positions were clinched by Nitin Kumar, Varun Sharma and Tarkish Verma respectively in -31kg category.
In sub-junior (- 34kg), 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Bhavishay Thakyal, Droon Dushyant Kohli and Kanishq Sharma, whereas in -40kg, first three positions secured by Arnav Singh, Midush Gupta and Rakshit respectively and in -52kg, Tanish Sharma, Romil Gupta bagged 1st and 2nd position respectively.
In -60kg weight category, first two positions were clinched by Samarth Jain and Akash Singh Jamwal, whereas, sub-jr open category, first three places were secured by Zain Dobriyal, Parth Mahajan and Kuvam Mahajan respectively and in boys under-18 junior category, top two position were secured by Eshan Saini and Kavya Gandotra in -55kg.
In 68 kg, Varun Sharma and Shreyas Kowdanya bagged 1st and 2nd positions respectively, whereas in -80kg, top two positions were won by Ayush Jasrotiya and Shaan Sharma and in junior open category, 1st position was bagged by Aditya Sharma and 2nd and 3rd positions were clinched by Sujal Gupta and Tarun Gupta respectively.
In girls sub-junior -40 kg, 1st and 2nd positions were clinched by Pragya Wadhera and Ruhi Gupta, whereas in sub-junior -35 kg, Ridhima Manhas and Ayushi won 1st and 2nd positions and in -42kg, Shivaki Thaploo, Aaranya Mahajan and Sunidhi Gupta won first three positions respectively.
In -45kg weight category, Ashween Kour, Sonal Jamwal and Pragati Sawhney bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, whereas in -55kg, Palak Sharma and Harsheen Kour clinched 1st and 2nd positions and -70kg, Harsheen Kour Bhatia secured 1st place.
In girls under-18 junior (-37kg), Sonakshi Sagar and Palavi bagged top two places while in -52kg, Sudiksha Sharma and Angel Thakur clinched first two positions and in -62kg, Janvi Singh bagged 1st position, whereas Aiyana Jamwal and Neha Sharma shared 2nd position and in -70kg, top two positions were clinched by Janvi Rajput and Palak Sharma respectively.
In junior open category, 1st place was clinched by Rishika Sharma and 2nd position was won by Aadhya Sharma.
Arun Khanna Councillor was the chief guest and Vishal Dhar was the guest of honour, whereas Ashwani Kumar was special guest on the occasion. About 100 students participated from various schools and clubs in this championship.
