KATHUA, Dec 13: To be organized jointly by J&K Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua in remembrance of Martyrs of J&K Police, the 3rd Police Martyrs Memorial North -Zone T-20 Cricket Championship 2012-13, will commence on December 16, 2012 at District Sports Stadium, here.
A total of 24 teams from all over North Zone will be participating in the Championship, out of which 12 teams are from J&K State.
The opening ceremony of the Championship will be held at Sports Stadium Kathua on December 16 and opening match will be played between Shabnam Cricket Club Hoshiarpur and NCC Jammu on the same day.
The tournament will be played on knock-out basis.
The winning team of the championship will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh, while the runners-up team with a cash prize of Rs 75 thousand. The Best player of the tournament will be awarded with Motor cycle. Besides best batsman, and best bowler, other players will be also awarded with medals and trophies.
