JAMMU, July 19: Gangyal police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered 4.2 kilograms cannabis from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by ASI Sat Pal under the supervision of SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani laid a naka near Kunjwani Chowk and intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK03C-8414.
During checking, police team recovered 4.2 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of four persons traveling in the vehicle and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Muzaffar Ahmed Bhat (driver), son of Mohammad Sadiq Bhat of Charkpora, Pahalgam District Anantnag, Umar Bashir Khan, son of Bashir Ahmed Khan of Chak Mohalla, Pahalgam District Anantnag, Ram Kumar, son of Harkesh of Bagrukhurd Jind and Joginder Singh, son of Dhaiya of Dhan Soli, Kurar, Panipat.
A case under FIR Number 69/19 under section 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation initiated.
Police team led by ASI Sat Pal made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani and SP South Vinay Sharma.
