JAMMU, Oct 17: Four persons of a family including two children mysteriously fell ill and landed in the hospital after taking their afternoon meal at their residence.
The victims have been identified as Balkar Singh son of Avtar Singh and resident of Saheedi Chowk, his wife Gurwinder Kour and their children, Alina (12) and Kozi (10).
According to a police spokesperson, in critical condition the husband and wife were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, while the children to SMGS Hospital, Jammu.
He said prima facie it appears to be a case of food poisoning. However, the exact reason of their mysterious illness is not clear, as none of the family members are in a condition to give statement.
He said a case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station and police has collected samples of their afternoon meal for testing.
