UDHAMPUR, Aug 29: Due to heavy rain fall and consequent landslides in Udhampur district, seven houses were damaged at Uppar Kathar Manwal area, last night.
According to the reports , 4 Kaccha houses fully collapsed while three other houses were partially damaged. Houses of Desh Raj, Sohan Singh, Sanjay Singh and Mukhtiar Singh and Valak Ram were completely damaged while the house of Dev Singh, Sagar Singh and Rumal Singh were partially damaged.
Sarpanch Balbir Singh arranged stay of the affected families in a nearest temple while the locals have demanded immediate Governor help to these people.
Meanwhile, the rain hit people of Basantgarh and Panchari have also appealed Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to provide them immediate relief as the heavy rains have caused extensive damage to their standing maize crop.
