4 hurt in LPG cylinder blast

BHADERWAH, Oct 6: Four members of a family including a toddler were injured when an LPG cylinder exploded near Eidgah in Haveli Mohalla here this afternoon.
As per police sources, a family residing near Eidgah in Haveli Mohalla was having lunch this afternoon, when a LPG cylinder exploded in their house due to leakage, resulting into injuries to four persons including a 2-year-old baby girl.
On hearing the sound of the explosion, locals rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire. Later, police also reached the spot and fire tenders along with fire fighters were pressed into service to douse the flames, which engulfed the house after the LPG cylinder explosion and damaged the kitchen and a room of the house.
After hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control. The injured persons were evacuated from the house and shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Bhaderwah for treatment.
Later, all the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment, where their condition was stated to be stable, when last reports came in.
The toddler and her mother were airlifted to GMCH by Air Force Chopper, whileas two others in ambulance by road.
The injured have been identified as Gulshana Begum (29), wife of Mohammad Asif of Gundna, at present Havelli Mohallah, her daughter Anfa (2), Sajid Arshad Bhat (28) and Sameer Arshad Bhat (19), sons of Arshad Ahmed Bhat of Haveli Mohalla.
A case in this regard has been registered at Bhaderwah police station and investigation started.
