4 killed, 6 hurt in mishap

REASI, Aug 21: Two teenagers among four persons died and six others were injured when a minibus rolled down in a deep gorge in mountainous Mahore area, here today.
The ill-fated minibus, bearing registration number JK20A-5737, was on way from Mahore to Bathoi when it rolled down in a deep gorge resulting into on the spot death of two persons, including driver cum owner of the vehicle, said Sujit Kumar, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range.
Two other passengers succumbed to their injuries on way to the Government Medical College Hospital Jammu while the four injured have been admitted at District Hospital Reasi, the DIG added.
The accident took place around 5.30 pm when driver of the minibus could not negotiate a sharp curve resulting into the mishap. All the deceased as well as the injured are from Bathoi village in Mahore.
The deceased, identified as Mohd Sajjad (15), son of Mohd Gazi and driver cum owner of the minibus, Abdul Hamid (40), son of Habib, reportedly died on the spot. Mohd Rizwan (13), son of Mohd Shafi and Nadeem (20), son of Abdul Rashid, succumbed to their injuries on way to the GMC Hospital Jammu.
While two passengers with minor injuries were discharged after first aid at Mahore Sub-District Hospital, four others, who have sustained grievous wounds, were referred to District Hospital Reasi.
They were identified as Mehjoor (24), son of Shams Din, Mohd Azhar (15), son of Nazir, Mohd Wasim (13), son of Farooq Ahmed and Naseema Begum (32), wife of Shafi. Their condition was stated to be stable and out of danger.
