4 medical employees placed under suspension

MENDHAR, May 17:  Four Medical employees were placed under suspension while two Medical Officers were charge-sheeted after a Primary Health Centre was found locked at Harni in Mendhar Sub Division today.
Official sources said that Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, Dr Mumtaz Bhatti along with BMO Mendhar Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan paid surprise visit to PHC Harni and found it locked. They talked to the people of the village and Panchayat members and took feedback from them.
The CMO then placed four employees under suspension and charge-sheeted the two Medical officers for the negligence on the part of staff members who were not present despite their duty as per roster.  Those suspended are Nabeel Fatima (JSN),  Zaheen Akhtar (JSN),  Saleem Akhtar (FMPHW) and Abdul Majid- Safaiwalla. The two doctors who were charge sheeted are – Dr Shakeel Ahmed and Dr Om Parkash Sharma. They failed to monitor the functioning of hospital despite duty assigned to the four staff members.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr OP was already chargesheeted by the BMO for being absent from duty about two weeks back and three other staff members were suspended.
CMO Poonch disclosed that  as per directions from the top, the inspections in all the blocks and tehsils of the district have been intensified. He said that out of the total 10, four staff members were supposed to be on duty today but they kept the hospital locked. Therefore, all the four including two Junior Staff Nurses, a FMPHW and a Class –IV employee were placed under suspension.
