SRINAGAR, Feb 8: Ahle- bait- Tahireen and Radio Kashmir jointly organized a blood donation camp in which nearly forty persons donated blood here today.
The blood donation camp was organized in the premises of Radio Kashmir Srinagar in which nearly thirty donors who had come across the Valley donated the blood. At least, ten staff members of the Radio Station including the prominent broadcaster, Himayun Qaisr, also donated the blood.
The blood donors said the camp was organized with an aim to inculcate the spirit of blood donation among people. “I am donating blood for the eighteenth time today and will continue to donate it in the future as well. I want others to cultivate this habit and serve the humanity,” Mohammad Jaffar Mir, a donor from Budgam said.
Shabir Hussain, a universal donor, who has saved more than one hundred lives by donating his blood 159 times over the last 37 years was awarded certificate of appreciation in the event.
