SRINAGAR: Former Union minister and founder president of the Indian National Congress in Jammu and Kashmir Mohammad Shafi Qureshi died at New Delhi today.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Ghu lam Ahmad Mir and several other Congress leaders have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise. He was 87.
Expressing deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Qureshi, JKPCC Chief Mir termed his demise as a great loss, not only to J&K, but to the entire country.
Recalling the services rendered by Qureshi, Mir said during his tenure as Deputy Railway Minister, Pathankote-Jammu rail service was started and after that, Qureshi got the survey done for Jammu- Baramulla railway service. (AGENCIES)
