JAMMU, Sept 1: The 42nd District Kho Kho Championship 2024 saw some impressive performances. In the boys’ category, the NIS Club emerged victorious, while the Parivartan Club claimed the title in the girls’ section. The championship was conducted with commendable sportsmanship.
Rajiv Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. He praised the Association and the players for their exemplary conduct throughout the championship and extended congratulations to both the winners and the runner-up teams. He also acknowledged the support provided by the J&K Sports Council in managing the ground and other essential activities, which contributed to the smooth running of the event.
B.S. Tirthi, Founder of the J&K Kho Kho Association, informed the players about an exciting development: next year, India will host the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup, featuring 35 countries. This historic event, under the guidance of Kho Kho Federation of India’s Sudhanshu Mittal and General Secretary MS Tyagi, will be broadcast live. It marks a significant milestone for the indigenous game of Kho Kho, bringing it to an international stage and reflecting its rapid rise in prominence.
