43rd State Badminton C’ship gets underway

JAMMU, Nov 17: 43rd State Badminton Championship got underway at Badminton Hall, Police Lines, Gulshan Ground, here.
The Championship was inaugurated by Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council in a well attended function which among others was attended by Dr OD Sharma, General Secretary J&K Badminton Association, Hakim Nazir, Vice President, JKBA, Fayaz Ahmed, Joint Secretary, Balbir Jamwal, Treasurer, Anil Gurkha, Satpal Sharma and Vikram Jamwal.
Around 200 players drawn from the districts of Jammu, Poonch, Udhampur, Kathua, Pulwama, Baramulla, Bandipora and Srinagar.
The winners on day one in Under-17 boys singles included Mohit Choudhary, Sham Sharma, Anil Singh, Nian Singh, Sahil Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Aryan, Aesh Goswmi, Vidit Sharma, Shivam Sharma, Srabpreet, Puranjay Sharma, Amrinder Singh, San-19 boys, the winners were deep, Shory Bhat and Sanjay Mengi, while in Under-17 girls singles, Rashmi Kashyap and Andita were the winners.
In Under -19 boys singles, the winners included Abhijit, Akshay Mahajan and Karan Singh, while in Under-19 girls, the winner was Naman and in men’s singles, winners were Aditya Rajput, Dhananjay, Raghav Dogra, Divum Langeh, Akash, Shuhul Raina and Vikram Saini.
