46th Annual Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet C’ship begins at JU

JAMMU, Mar 5: The 46th Annual Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet (Men & Women) Championship 2023-24 organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu commenced here today at the University Synthetic Track.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Anju Bhasin, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu in the presence of Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Director DD&OE, Prof. Rahul Gupta, Registrar, Prof. Alka Sharma, Director SIIEDC, Prof. Satya Pal Coordinator RUSA , Nagesh Jamwal Chief Account Officer, University of Jammu, Dr Komal Nagar I/c Assistant Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, and large number of gathering of dignitaries, players, officials, employees, participants of different Colleges as well as the people from the civil society.
Prof. Alka Sharma Director SIIEDC, University of Jammu lauded the efforts of the management in organisation of the event. She further added that the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu is organizing various Skill Development Workshops under the aegis of SIIEDC & funded by RUSA.
Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Director DD&OE, University of Jammu addressed the gathering and also complimented the organizers for organizing this event. Prof. Bhasin also appreciated the huge participation of the players and officials accompanying their teams of the various Affiliated Colleges of University of Jammu.
Dr. Baba informed that more than 400 Athletes from different affiliated Colleges of the University of Jammu are participating in this mega event.
He also emphasised that Sports and games impart a sense of discipline, fellow-feeling, and togetherness. Sports and games are the right avenues to channelize the energy and vitality of students in a positive direction. He also assured that University of Jammu will be the front runner in nourishing the talent of the sportsperson who will ultimately make the nation proud. The proceedings of the event was conducted by Vimal Kishore Assistant Professor Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education.

Singh, Madan Gopal, Sumeet Dogra, Ajay Pal, Ravinder Singh, Vinod Bhatia, Dr. Mahak, Harinderpal Singh, Manu Pawar, Richa Mandla, Inderjeet Singh, Rishiv Sharma, Physical Directors of various Affiliated Colleges.
