JAMMU, Aug 27: 46th KVS Regional Sports Meet in the disciplines of Kabaddi Under-14 and 19 and Chess Under-17 and 19 (Girls) concluded at Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
T R Choudhary, Principal, K V No.1, Jammu was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, who gave away the medals to the winners of the competitions.
Earlier today, the final round of games was played between the players. The selection of players was also made for participation in KVS National Sports Meet to be held soon.
Choudhary in his address congratulated the winners of different competitions and encouraged the others to try again till they achieve goal.
The winners were cheered by the teams and staff on this occasion.
The selected players for the KVS Nationals were also declared in the function.
225 students and escorts from Kendriya Vidyalayas in J&K State, parts of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab participated in this Sports Meet.
Earlier, in Under-19 Kabaddi, KV No 1 Jammu bagged first place, KV Bhaderwah clinched second place, while KV Samba claimed third spot, while in Kabaddi Under-14, KV No-1 Jammu won first place, while second and third spots went to KV No-2 Pathankot and KV Sunderbani.
In Chess Under-14 girls, Ishita Sambyal, Variyatta Andotra and Gargi claimed first three positions respectively, while in Chess Under-17 girls, Monika Devi, Pratiksha Pandita and Janvi Basan claimed the first three positions respectively and in Chess Under-19 girls, the first position was bagged by Sonali Manhas, the second spot was bagged by Akhila Nath and the third position was bagged by Mahima.
