JAMMU, May 25: 475th Maharana Pratap Jayanti was celebrated today with great enthusiasm by Dharam Jagran Samanavay Bibhag in collaboration with Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, J&K.
A large number of people along with heads of various social organizations participated in the function, which was presided over by president, Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, J&K, Kumar Narayan Singh.
Zorawar Singh, general secretary, Press Club, Jammu, was working president of the function. Abhinav Sharma, president, Bar Association, Jammu, was the chief guest while Shamsher Singh Manhas, Member Parliament and MLC Romesh Arora were the guests of honour.
The main objective of the function was to highlight the life style of Maharana Partap, who fought bravely against mis-governance and injustice of Akbar being met to the public during the latter’s rule.
Rakesh, Parcharak, Dharam Jagran Samanavay Bibhag, in his address highlighted in detail the role of Maharana Partap against Akbar to protect the public from the mis-governance and in-justice being forced upon the poor public. He stated how Maharana Partap overpowered Akbar’s Army with his small force with the help of general public.
Kumar Narayan Singh in his address also highlighted the working of Maharana Pratap for the welfare of the public and advised all to follow the footsteps of the Rajput king. He advised the State Government to prescribe in school books the history of Maharana Partap.
Zorawar Singh and Abhinav Sharma also spoke on the Rajput king and advised all to study his history. They advised the gathering and present functionaries of the Government to follow the footsteps of Maharana Partap and work accordingly for the welfare of the public.
