JAMMU, Aug 30: Two days long 47th KVS Regional Sports Meet concluded today.
47th KVS Regional Sports Meet for under-14 and 19 players in Kabaddi, for under-14, 17 and 19 players in Skating, for under-14, 17 and 19 girls in Chess and for under-14, 17 and 19 players in Yoga concluded at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Gandhi Nagar with prize distribution function.
TR Choudhary, Principal, KV No. 1, Jammu, was the chief guest, who gave away the medals to the winners of the competitions.
TR Choudhary in his address encouraged the players to try till they achieve goals fixed by them. He added that these games will enrich the experiences of the participants and will help develop life skills to handle the life in a positive way. He stressed that discipline helps to rise in every field of life. He hoped that the participants of KVS Jammu Region will perform better in KVS Nationals also.
The list of the selected players for KVS Nationals was also declared in the function.
In under-19 Kabaddi, KV No. 1 Jammu, K.V Samba and KV No. 2 Akhnoor clinched first, second and third positions respectively, while in under-14 category, KV No. 1 Jammu, KV No. 2 Udhampur and KV Bhikhiwind bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-14 Chess, Yukta of KV No. 2 Jalandhar, Gifty of KV No. 2 Jalandhar and Ishita of KV Kathua secured first, second and third positions respectively. Whereas in under-17 category, Parul Sharma of KV Kathua, Mehak of KV Nagrota and Kamakshi of KV Kathua clinched first, second and third positions respectively and in under-19 category, Monika of KV Bantalab, Mahima of KV Jyotipuram and Anchal of KV NO. 1 Jammu emerged winners.
In under-14 Yoga (girls), Ridhima of KV Kathua, Bhumika of KV No. 1 Pathankot and Manvinder of KV Sunjuwan clinched first, second and third positions respectively, while in under-17 category, Parul of KV No. 1 Pathankot, Vanshika of KV. No. 1 Pathankot and Shikha of KV No. 2 Jammu bagged first, second and third positions respectively and in under-19 category, Shobha, Maneela and Aashra, trio from KV No. 1 Jammu secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In under-14 Skating (quads 300 meters and 1000 meters girls), Diya Jamwal of KV No. 1 Jammu emerged winner, whereas in Road Race (girls), Shaiyna Basson of KV No. 1 Jammu clinched first position.
In under-19 Skating (quads 300 meters girls), Kanisha Mahajan of KV No 1, Jammu clinched first position, in 1000 meters girls, Gagan Inder of KV No 1 Amritsar emerged winner and in Road Race (girls), Kanisha Mahajan of KV No. 1 Jammu secured first position.
Meanwhile, 47th KVS Regional Sports Meet for boys in the discipline of Volleyball concluded at KV Nagrota. KV Nangalbhur won the Gold medal in under-19 whereas, the teams of KV Hiranagar and KV No. 4 Pathankot bagged Silver and Bronze medals. Similarly, KV Dalhousie won the Gold medal in under-14, whereas the teams of KV Jourian and KV Nagrota bagged Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
The teams were honoured with medals by the chief guest S Sambanna, Officiating Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Region.
The programme was organized under the overall supervision of RK Shukla, Principal, KV Nagrota and Venue Director. The Programme was co-ordinated by Amriek Singh, TGT (P&HE) KV Nagrota.
Bimla Pandit, Vice Principal and the entire staff of KV Nagrota were also present on the occasion.
