JAMMU, Mar 6: 47th UT level Badminton Championship, organised by Badminton Association of J&K got underway at Badminton Hall Indoor Sports Complex MA Stadium, here today.
In boys singles under-13 category, Kavin, Gopesh Singh, Harsh Sharma and Shourya trounced Banupartap Singh, Shivansh, Kanishk and Udhyan respectively, whereas in girls singles under-13, Shambhavi Rajput, Suhani and Sangbi Rajput beat Shrey Gupta, Ibadat and Jaina and in boys single under-15, Bhavdeep Singh and Anish Thakur got better of Shiven Prashar and Shivansh.
In girls single under-15, Shambhavi Rajput and Krishika Mahajan defeated Tajsvi and Suhani Sharma respectively, whereas in boys singles under 19, Bhavya, Ayush Thakur, Neelkanth, Vidhan Gour, Ibrahim Qureshi, Kulbandhu and Sehdev Singh emerged winners by defeating Arvinder Singh, Aman Mir, Arunav Thakur, Mansoor Wani, Aryan and Krishna respectively.
In girls singles under-19, Unnati Jalal and Bhavini Dalpatia trounced Shambhavi Rajput and Krishika Mahajan respectively.
In mens singles, Fasal Shah, Mujeev-Ul-Rehman, Bhavya, Ibrahim Qureshi and Nakul Vaid beat Paramjeet Singh, Ojas Suri, Asif Farooq, Arpit and Adhyan respectively, whereas Nalin, Sangam Dutta, Raghav Dogra, Sunit Gandotra and Sunit Sharma defeated Aman Mir, Raksham Sharma, Fasel, Manish and Parbjot respectively in same category and Ravdeep Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Sanjay Mishra and Arun Singh took walk over Mantej Singh, Tanmay Sharma, Nirmal Singh and Joginder Singh respectively in mens singles category.
The matches were officiated by Dushyant Sharma, Anil Gurkha, Satpal Sharma, Waseem Mir and Rahul Sharma.
Dr OD Sharma, Ankush Manhas, Iftiqar Wani, Dr Azaj Qureshi and Balbir Jamwal- general secretary BAJK were also present during the event.
