48-team Marh Premier League T20 Championship from 1st week of Aug

JAMMU, July 10: The Organising Committee, under the patronage of Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra and under the overall supervision of its chairman, Subash Sharma and president Ankush Abrol, member JKCA Working Committee, is organizing a 48-team cricketing extravaganza namely ‘Marh Premier League T20 Cricket Championship’ from first week of August in Jammu.
The matches will be held at two venues of Marh cricket ground and Phalain Mandal cricket ground in Marh Constituency.
Apart from patron-in-chief, Ajay Sadhotra, chairman, Mr Sharma, president Mr Abrol, the Organizing Committee includes senior vice president, Rajesh Dhar, working committee member JKCA; general secretary, Vikram Singh, former Ranji Trophy player; organizing secretary, Shashi Paul; joint secretary, Sarpanch Dharam Paul Sharma; media secretary, Kewal Krishan Sharma, senior national cricketer and Manmohan Paroch, national player. Sudhir Singh, BCCI panel umpire will be the convener of the technical committee. Keval Krishan will be the in-charge of Phalain Mandal venue, while Shashi Paul will be the in-charge of the Marh ground.
The handout added that the winners of the Tournament will be presented with a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a glittering trophy, while the runners-up team will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy. The team which gets third position in the Tournament will be receiving a cash prize of Rs 50, 000 and the team which bags 4th position will get Rs 25, 000 as cash prize.
“A cash prize of Rs 21,000 will be presented to man of the series, while the best bowler and best batsman will receive a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each and Rs 1,000 will be presented to the man of the match awardees in each match.,” said chairman Subash Sharma.
President Organizing Committee Ankush Abrol said that the organizers will provide 20 colour uniforms to each team, besides a full kit bag having 3 bats, 3 pairs of batting gloves, one pair of keeping gloves, one pair of keeping pads, 2 helmets, 3 abdominal guards, 3 thigh pads along with a kit bag.
Meanwhile, the Organizing Committee has also decided to invite and felicitate international cricketers Parvez Rasool and Shubham Khajuria during the Tournament.
