JAMMU, Mar 21: The 48th Jammu & Kashmir UT Badminton Championship, organised by Badminton Association of J&K, entered 2nd day at Indoor Hall MA Stadium, here today.
The matches were officiated under the supervision of Vikaram Saini and Tossiff Ahmad of SAI Badminton coaches and Divam Gupta, Badminton coach, J&K Sports Council.
In under-13 boys category, Abhijit Bandiri and Musim got walk over Mohd Umair Wani and Devansh Jain, while Shivansh Pandotra bet Vivan Chib by 2-0, Salman Muzaffar defeated Aarsh Sharma by 2-0, Swyam Sharma trounced Devesh Bakshi by 2-1, Shivang Magotra got better of Aaradhaya Sharma by 2-0, Shourya Pratham beat MuradTariw by 2-0, Hynder Ali trounced Kanishq by 2-0, Tanshil Pillai defeated Abhijeet by 2-0, Kevin Kkadian beat Devansh Jain by 2-0, Salman defeated Karan by 2-0, Shivash beat Swayam by 2-0 and Gopesh Singh beat Kartik Sharma by 2-0.
In under-13 girls category, Sarveen Kour beat Tejashvi Amit by 2-0, Prisha Aggarwal trounced Davleen Kour by 2-0, Paavini Gupta defeated Ananya Kumari by 2-1, Gaina Singh beat Pariyat Seth by 2-0, Suhani Gupta trounced Dimond Singh, Yashasvi Amit beat Aashani Sharma by 2-0 and Suhani Sharma beat Godiya by 2-0.
In under-15 boys, Mohd Shehzab beat Manak Gupta, Gourav Khanna got walk over Vaibhav Mehra, Thakur Aneesh beat Raghav Magotra by 2-0, Kevin defeated Gopesh Singh by 2-0, Bhavdeep Singh trounced Shivansh Pandotra, Udhyan Sharma got walk over Akhil Mengi, Parnav Mehra beat Mohd Shehzab by 2-0 and Vaibhav trounced Mohit Salaria by 2-0.
Prominent persons including Dr OD Sharma, chairman, JKBA, vice president, BAI, Col DV Sharma, Balbir Jamwal general secretary, Iftikar Wani, Rahul Sharma, Pawanjit Singh, Iqbal Qureshi, Sukhdev Singh, Sunil, Gurkha, Anil Gurkha and Vivek Mehta were present during the event.
