JAMMU, Sept 1: Two days long District Jammu Kalaripayattu Championship, organized by District Jammu Association under the banner of Kalaripayattu Association of J&K, concluded at Kotli Bhawan Hall, Rehari Colony, here today.
More than 250 players from different schools and clubs participated in the championship, wherein Arun Khanna – Councillor Ward No 25 was the chief guest for the valedictory function.
In his speech, he congratulated the District Association for organizing the championship and providing a platform to the youth to channelize their energy towards sports.
In the championship, International Delhi Public School, Jammu remained the overall Champion, whereas Stephens International School and KC International School, Jammu remained Runner up.
Revant Gupta, owner of RG Fitness Gym n Spa, Rajesh Bali, owner of Kashmir Samachar, Deepak Dogra, Senior Martial Arts player/ coach and Danish Sharma, general secretary Kalaripayattu Association of J&K and Tarsem Sharma founder of Kalaripayattu in J&K were the special guests on the occasion.
Other officials present on the occasion were Harsh Vardhan Raina, Rudrakshit Gupta, Manish Gill, Romal Sharma, Sinia Abrol and others.
Momentos and medals were also given to the players to felicitate them for their wonderful performances. At last, Danish Sharma appreciated the organisers for organizing such a successful Kalarippayattu event.
