JAMMU, Dec 4: J&K Youth National Conference under the aegis of J&K Football Association is organizing 4th Sher-e-Kashmir Gold Cup Football Championship from tomorrow at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College Football ground.
This was stated by Surinder Singh Bunty, provincial president, J&K Youth National Conference and Chairman of the Organizing Committee during a press conference here today.
Bunty said that a total of 20 teams are taking part in the championship and will be seen vying for the coveted trophy.
In Pool ‘A”, there will be ten teams namely J&K Bank, Hero Club, Akhnoor Tigers, Churchill Brothers, Young Heroes, Sainik Colony Football Club, Vijay Club, DFA Udhampur and J&K Forest, whereas in Pool ‘B’, the teams are J&K Bank Football Academy, Young Star, Jammu Sports, Mussa Club, J&K PDC, Young Rovers, DFA Samba, Jammu United, JKSRTC and J&K Police.
The championship organised to promote the game of football in J&K will be inaugurated by MLC Devender Rana, Provincial President, National Conference.
Apart from the prizes, cash awards will be awarded to the winner and runner-up teams in the final, which will be announced in the final match, Bunty informed.
J&K Football Association, J&K Sports Council, J&K Police and J&K Bank are extending their help for the success of the championship, he added.
