5.8 magnitude quake rocks Kashmir

SRINAGAR :  A moderate intensity earthquake, measuring  5.8 on the Richter scale, jolted Kashmir valley, including summer capital Srinagar, in the wee hours  forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic.         A Met department spokesman told UNI that the tremors, fifth during the past about three weeks, which were felt at 0134 hrs  lasted for a few seconds.
He said the epicentre of the quake, was somewhere in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan.         There was no immediate report of any loss of life or damage to property.  (AGENCIES)
