JAMMU, May 27: Five drug peddlers have been arrested along with heroin and ganja.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Lakhanpur Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Sharma laid a naka and arrested three drug peddlers along with 250 grams heroin.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Salim, son of Abdul Razaq, Zoiya Farooq, daughter of Mohammad Farooq and Rubia Akhtar, wife of Mohammad Salim, all resident of Bijbehara District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 42/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Lakhanpur Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team of Railway Police today evening arrested two drug peddlers with 800 grams ganja at Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
The accused have been identified as Amit Kumar, son of Jai Ram, a resident of Saheb Gandh, Jharkhand, presently living in Trikuta Nagar and Prem Prabhakar, a resident of District Munger, Bihar, at present Nanak Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 6/19 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation started.
