5 injured in separate road accidents

JAMMU, Sept 1: Five persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Jammu District today, police said.
They said two motorcycles collided with each other at Gummat, near Jammu Municipal Corporation Gate around 3 Pm, resulting in injuries to four people, one of them seriously.
The injured were rushed to Government Medical College Jammu where they are undergoing treatment, said police.
The injured have been identified as Harsh (21) son of Mohan Lal of Shalamar, Nikhil (24) son of Ashok Kumar of Jewel, Akankhsa (24) daughter of Avtar Singh of New Plot, and Saksham (20) son of Rajan of Newplot, Jammu.
According to police, one of the injured, Harsh, has got fractures in the accident.
Police have registered a case FIR number 48/2023 under Sections 279, 337 of the IPC at Bus Stand Police Station and started further investigation.
Meanwhile, a child, identified as Harjot Singh (10) son of Varinder Singh of Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, suffered injuries after he was hit by a motorcycle near his home.
He was immediately taken to Government Medical College Jammu by his father, where he is undergoing treatment.
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Station to further probe the incident.
