KATRA, Aug 23: Displaying professionalism, Katra Police has recovered five stolen motorcycles and also arrested the alleged thief.
The arrested thief has been identified as Ravi Kumar alias Kaka, son of Ram Lal of Kundrorian, Katra while the recovered Motorcycles bear the registration number 8533/JK02AW, 0749/ JK20, 6582/JK20, 9121/JK02AG and 5920/JK20.
These motorcycles were stolen by the arrested thief and with his arrest besides the recoveries, Katra Police has successfully worked out case FIR numbers 172 /18, 173/18, 177/18,178/18 and 180/18.
Following the incidents of bike lifting, a special Police team, headed by SHO Katra Inspector Surinder Pal Singh was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Katra Vivek Shekhar and ASP Katra Naresh Singh. The Police team made the sincere efforts and recovered all the stolen bikes besides arresting the accused.
Meanwhile, Reasi Police today foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling by apprehending a bootlegger, namely Ashok Kumar son of Ram Chand of Aghar Jitto, tehsil Katra. 60 quarters of Desi whiskey (250ml) were recovered from his possession . A case in this regard was registered at Police Station Reasi.
