53rd KVS National Sports Meet 2024 underway

JAMMU, Sept 5: The 3rd day of the 53rd KVS National Sports Meet (Girls) showcased remarkable performances in Hockey and Kabaddi, captivating spectators at K.K. Hakku Stadium and M.A.M. Stadium, Jammu.
In the Under-14 Hockey, Jaipur Region dominated Gurugram with a commanding 9-0 victory. Mumbai outplayed Delhi 2-1 in a thrilling contest, while Chennai narrowly edged out Jaipur by 1-0. In the Under-17 category, Ranchi defeated Chandigarh by 3-0, and Jaipur overwhelmed Patna with a one-sided 10-0 win. Ranchi further bested Delhi by 1-0 in a closely fought match.
Kabaddi matches were equally exciting. In the Under-14 category, Bhopal and Tinsukia tied in a tense match, while Bhubaneswar beat Agra by 38-21. Lucknow claimed a 33-17 win over Chennai and Varanasi defeated Chandigarh by 23-13. Host team Jammu narrowly overcame Raipur by 20-18, while Patna triumphed over Hyderabad 30-6. Jabalpur, Gurugram by and Kolkata also secured wins in their respective matches.
In Under-17 Kabaddi, Kolkata defeated Ahmedabad by 30-14, and Bengaluru edged Delhi by 33-30. Jaipur narrowly won against Jabalpur by 18-17, and Dehradun crushed Ranchi by 41-12. In a closely fought contest, Jammu prevailed over Patna by 26-19, with standout performances by Ishika, Toffi and Shanisha. Officials praised the organization and arrangements, ensuring smooth conduct of the games.
Nagendra Goyal, Deputy Commissioner, KVS, Regional Office, Jammu visited both the venues. He encouraged all the players and expressed satisfaction after reviewing the various facilities of transportation of players from stay venue to playground, medical & ambulance, nutritious food, sanitation & stay arrangements etc. A team of officials from KVS Head Quarter, New Delhi visited the venues to inspect the various arrangements.
Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner, KVS RO Jammu & In charge of this ongoing National Sports Meet 2024 in Jammu Region also visited the venues and after having talks with the participants & escorts from different regions, he too expressed his invaluable blessings & best wishes along with satisfaction about the over-all arrangements for this National Sports Meet 2024. He told that the ambulance is available 24×7. Furthermore, he also instructed the officials, principals for its smooth conduct ahead.
