JAMMU, July 27: The second phase of the 53rd KVS Regional Sports Meet for boys has commenced across Kendriya Vidyalayas in the Jammu region. The event, which highlights the spirit of competition and sportsmanship among young students, is being hosted at multiple locations.
At PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nagrota, approximately 120 students from various Kendriya Vidyalayas are participating in a range of activities including Handball, Yoga and Shooting. Dr. Ram Kishan Dahiya, Principal of the school, served as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony. He underscored the importance of sports in instilling moral values, leadership skills, teamwork, and stress management, urging students to play with confidence and a strong team spirit.
In a parallel event, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2, Jammu Cantt, is hosting the Jammu Regional Sports Meet, which will run for two days. The inauguration was led by Principal Sunil Kumar Yadav. This venue has attracted 166 participants from 16 schools across the Jammu region. The competitions include Table Tennis, Basketball, Lawn Tennis, and Rope Skipping. An oath was administered to all participants, emphasizing the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
Additionally, the 53rd KVS Regional Sports Meet for boys at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Jammu, is featuring Chess and Skating events for U-14, U-17, and U-19 age groups. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Akash Gupta, Vice Principal; Himani Bagdi; Sandesh Bhat; and Neelam. With 98 participants and 28 escorts from 22 Kendriya Vidyalayas, the event is organized under the dynamic leadership of Principal Amit Walter.
This grand event is set to showcase young talent and foster a spirit of healthy competition among students across the region.
