BARAMULLA, Nov 8: The 5th District Baramulla Taekwondo Championship 2024 commenced at the New JKSC Indoor Sports Complex, Khwajabagh, here today, marking a celebration of local athletic talent.
Organized by the Taekwondo Association of district Baramulla under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, the two-day event runs from November 8 to 9.
The opening ceremony was graced by Adv. Neelofar Masood, president of the Taekwondo Association of district Baramulla, as chief guest, with Showkat Ahmad, Incharge of the Sports Stadium Khwajabagh Baramulla, as guest of honor. Their presence highlighted the importance of the event for the district’s sports community.
The championship has attracted 130 participants from various zones, clubs and leading schools within Baramulla, competing across several Taekwondo categories. The competition aims to promote Taekwondo in the region and provide young athletes with a platform to showcase their dedication, discipline and skills in martial arts.
