BARAMULLA, Nov 9: The 5th District Baramulla Taekwondo Championships 2024 concluded at the JKSC New Indoor Sports Complex, Khawaja Bagh, here today, after two days of intense competition with 150 athletes participating. The closing ceremony was attended by Minga Sherpa, District Development Commissioner, as the chief guest, and Nissar Hussain Wani, Senior Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association, as the guest of honour.
Minga Sherpa praised the organizing committee and congratulated the athletes for their outstanding performances. He also announced the establishment of a dedicated training hall for Taekwondo athletes in District Baramulla at the JKSC Indoor Stadium Khwajabagh.
The event showcased exceptional talent, with athletes displaying remarkable skill and sportsmanship. Several distinguished guests, including Showkat Shah (Manager, JKSC Baramulla), Danish Manzoor (International Taekwondo Athlete, Fit India Ambassador), and Parveena Akhtar (Principal, Higher Secondary School Chatoosa), were present to support the athletes. The event was organized by the District Baramulla Taekwondo Association and was a resounding success, reflecting the growing popularity of Taekwondo in the region.
