JAMMU, June 6: Jammu and Kashmir Tug of War Association (JKTWA) has conducted 5th District Tug of War Championship in Gadigarh, here today.
The championship was conducted under the age group of 17 to 19 and senior Men and Women categories at Unique International Public Higher Secondary School. Around 200 players from different parts of Jammu region participated.
The tournament was inaugurated by Jodh Singh Isher, General Secretary J&K Tug of War Association in presence of Jasbir Singh, chairman of Unique International Public Higher Secondary school.
In today’s under 17 mix (460 kg) quarter final match, GHS Bhour Camp defeated GHS Brij nagar by 2-0 sets, Army Public School, Miran Sahib defeated Roop Public School, Bishnah by 2-0 sets, JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib defeated Adarsh Club Miran Sahib by 2-0 sets and Wazir Janki Nath School defeated Unique International Public School by 2-1 sets.
In today’s under 19 mix (460 kg) semi finals, Unique International Public School defeated Khalsa Club Nanak Nagar by 2-0 sets.
JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib defeated Army Public School, Miran Sahib by 2-1 sets. While, Unique International Public School will take on JK Police Public School Miran Sahib in the final.
In today’s senior mix (580 kg) semi finals, Adarsh Club Miran Sahib defeated Akhnoor Club by 2-0 sets and R.S. Pura Club defeated Khalsa Club Nanak Nagar by 2-0 sets.
Adarsh Club Miran Sahib and R.S. Pura Club have qualified for the final. The competition officiated by Gorav Kumar Dubey, Jasvinder Singh and Kiran Kumari.
