JAMMU, Dec 29: Six gamblers along with stake money were held today from Pounichak area of city outskirts.
“On a specific information, a raid was conducted in Gole Panj Peer area in which 6 gamblers were held with playing cards and stake money of Rs 13,000”, a police spokesman said.
He said that the arrested gamblers have been identified as Rohit Verma son of Sham Lal, Ajay Kumar son of Hans Raj, Billa Ram son of Hemraj, Sajan son of Chaman Lal, Baba Kumar son of Raj Kumar and Sahil Kumar son of Pritam Chand, all residents of Gole Pulley, Talab Tillo.
A case under relevant sections has been registered against the accused. The arrest was made Sub Inspector Sumit Magotra, Incharge, Police Post Pounichak, under the guidance of Inspector Raajeshwar Slathia, SHO Domana under the supervision of Deputy SP, Surinder Sharma, SDPO Domana and Arun Gupta, SP Rural Jammu.
