RAMBAN, Sept 20: Six new branches of J&K Bank and four ATMs will be set up across the district especially in rural areas to facilitate the people. This was informed during a meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC) held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz today .
The six new bank branches will be opened at Chambalwas, Senabati, Kanthi, Halla, Gandhari and Rajgarh and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) at Tethar, Ramsoo, Ukhral and Ramban which will provide banking and transaction facility to people of 7 blocks in the entire district.
The meeting was informed that 71 beneficiaries have been provided educational loans from different banks besides registering 8160 people for Prime Minister Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Suraksha Bima Yojana schemes and 471 under Atal Pension Yojana (APY) so far. Efforts are afoot to cover all households under these flagship schemes with the help of financial literacy camps organised on regular basis.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues pertaining to the loans given for operating income generating units. It was also elucidated by the officers that some cases have been kept pending by the various bank branches.
The DDC asked the bankers and other line departments to conduct regular block level meetings and financial literacy camps in order to strengthen coordination between banks, civil administration and beneficiaries so that a supportive system is established in all the bank branches for operating accounts and completion of loan cases

The meeting was attended by ADDC Ravinder Sadhu, AGM RBI, R.B Sharma, Director RSETI Rajiv Sharma, LDM Arun Khajuria, DDM-NABARD, Arushi Sharma, CPO, GM DIC, DSWO, ADs and other concerned.
