JAMMU, Aug 28: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal has awarded six years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 to a Burma national Rehmatullah, son of Halla Miyan, who entered J&K illegally in the year 2013.
After hearing APP KA Qazi for the State, the court awarded rigorous imprisonment for six years for the offence punishable under Section 14-A of Foreigners Act. In case of default in payment of fine he shall undergo simple imprisonment for 06 months. He was also sentenced to imprisonment for 04 months under Section 12 of Indian Passports Act. However, both the sentences shall run concurrently.
