JAMMU, Feb 2: Director General, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Navin Agarwal said that the Department of Youth Services and Sports will host National School Games in different disciplines for boys and girls under all age groups from February 4, 2015.
Addressing media persons, he said after successful conduct of 60th National School Games (NSG) in Badminton Under-14 boys and girls recently held at Jammu, the Department has proposed to host 60th National School Games under the aegis of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in Speed Ball and Roll Ball Under-19 boys and girls scheduled to be held on February 4, 2015.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu and Director Information, Mukhtar-ul-Aziz were also present on the occasion.
The Director General said that venue for Speed Ball will be at Mahavir International School, 17 Miles NH-1A, District Samba, adding that the venue for Roll Ball will be at Delhi Public School, Rajbagh in District Kathua.
“The Opening Ceremony of the Speed Ball Under-19 boys and girls event will be held at 2 pm at Mahavir International School District Samba for which 20 State Level Teams of Speed Ball (Boys and Girls) have registered to participate in the National Competition. The competitions will be held with effect from February 4 to 7, 2015 and the participating States include CBSE, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh,” Agarwal added.
He further said that the Opening Ceremony of Roll Ball Under-19 boys and girls will be held at Delhi Public School, Rajbagh District Kathua at 11 am on January 4, 2015, adding around 20 teams from 12 States of the Country have confirmed their participation in the National Competition, which include CBSE, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Vidya Bharathi and Tamil Nadu.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were members of Organizing Committee including Haji Mirza and A R Shigan.
