RAMNAGAR, July 14: The Forest Department officials from Ramnagar Division today retrieved 62 kanal of forest land at Rang village in tehsil Ramnagar of district Udhampur.
Official sources said that a Forest team led by DFO Ramnagar, Vivek Modi and assisted by Range Officer, Ramnagar South Range, Satish Kumar today organised operation and got vacated nearly 62 kanal of land in Compartment No. 49 of Ramnagar South Range from the possession of two encroachers. While Bhagat Ram had grabbed 30 kanal of forest land, one Sudesh Singh about 32 kanal of land.
The team removed the fencing raised by land grabbers and cleared the entire area. Conservator of Forests East Circle, Jammu, B M Sharma closely coordinated the entire operation. He asked the DFO concerned to fence the retrieved area.
