68th NSG: Manipur, Haryana clinch Gold; J&K secures Sabre team Bronze

JAMMU, Nov 18: Manipur’s fencers delivered stellar performances on Day 2 of the ongoing 68th National School Games in U-17 Boys and Girls Fencing, clinching two Gold medals at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu.
Manipur’s fencers triumphed in the Girls Sabre and Boys Foil team events. In the Girls Sabre event, the winning team from Manipur included Pangamban Ambika Devi, Peban Babydaina Devi, Priya Ningomban, and Payal Ningomban, while Haryana secured Silver, and Jammu & Kashmir claimed the Bronze with the team of Subhanaya Sharma, Aahana Gupta, Amadhya Vermani, and Alankrita Sharma.
In the U-17 Girls Epee team event, Haryana bagged the Gold, while the Silver went to Delhi and Karnataka won the Bronze. In the Boys Foil team event, Manipur again claimed Gold, with Haryana securing the Bronze.
The event, part of the 68th National School Games, is being held across multiple sports disciplines with around 4000 athletes participating nationwide. The winners were felicitated by Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Ved Prakash, and Harvinder Kaur, Convener of the Ceremonies Committee.
