JAMMU, Mar 2: Sixth J&K UT Ju-Jitsu Championship, organised by Ju-Jitsu Association Jammu and Kashmir, concluded at J&K Sports Council Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
Around 200 students from 10 different districts of J&K participated in the championship with great enthusiasm and zeal to showcase their performance and hone their skills. The main aim of the tournament was to provide all round fitness and extraordinary skills to the students.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Chander Mohan Gupta, JMC Mayor as chief guest, while Suminder Singh, Managing Director IDPS was guest of honour and Lalit Kumar Gupta (CA), Shuja Zaffar, Gul-e-Surkhab, Dr Navneet Gupta, Vikas Dogra, Madhu Abrol Manager IDPS and Shweta Thakur were among special guests.
The championship was conducted under the supervision of Tarsem Sharma, founder/ general secretary Ju-Jitsu Association of J&K and technical officials including Danish Sharma (Qualified National Referee), Harsh Vardhan Raina, Rohit Thakyal, Brijesh Bhau, Farooq Ahmed, Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, Rajat Bhagat, Rudrakshit Gupta, Ranjeet Singh and Mehul Sharma.
In boys under-11 (27kg), Aahan Sharma, Sarthak Gupta and Aarav Singh Jamwal stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in 30kg, top two places were secured by Sarvagye Gupta and Veer Vikram Singh and 3rd place was shared by Raguvansh Bhau and Girish Sharma and in 34kg, 1st and 2nd places were secured by Kartavya Verma and Darsh Bhat, besides in 38kg, Ahmed Latif and Vinayak remained 1st and 2nd, whereas in girls (30kg), 1st and 2nd places were won by Sneha Malhotra and Simranjot Kour.
In boys under-14 (34kg), Nitin Kumar and Piyush Bhau stood 1st and 2nd, while 3rd places were clinched by Keshav Sharma and Muzamil Tariq, while in 37kg, Madhav Sharma and Sheikh Mohmed remained 1st and 2nd respectively and in 40kg, Mohd Arif and Sheikh Inam bagged top two places, while 3rd place was shared by Tanish Mehra and Satyam, besides in 44kg, top two position were clinched by Nasir-ul-Islam and Zameer Ahmed, while 3rd place was shared by Droan Dushyant Kohli and Vishav Dev Singh, whereas in 48 kg, Ritish Pandotra and Rakesh stood 1st and 2nd , while 3rd place was shared by Rudra Bakshi and Rudransh Chib and in 52kg, top three positions were won by Aman Kumar, Musawir Riyaz and Fazil Ahmed Wani respectively.
In boys under-14 (56kg), top two positions were won by Daksh Chib and Mohit Hasan, while 3rd place was shared by Shavad and Mohit Kumar, while in 60 kg, Priyanshu Bhagat and Virat stood 1st and 2nd and in 65kg, Owais Ahmed and Akhileshwar won top two places, besides in 65 kg, two places were clinched by Zayin Dobriyal and Abishek Choudhary and 3rd place was shared by Adhyan Singh and Kouvam Gupta.
In girls under-14 (42kg), Akshara Sudan and Ridhima remained 1st and 2nd, while 3rd place was shared by Razia Akhtar and Falak Manzoor respectively, while in 50kg, top three positions were clinched by Nida Sakeena , Anika Rai and Aaranya Mahajan respectively and in 55kg, Iqra Zehra and Pritika stood 1st and 2nd, besides in 58 kg, top two positions were won by Tanushka and Stuti, while in 61kg, Arifa Zehra and Kashik Rajput won 1st and 2nd places and in above 65kg, top two positions were clinched by Harsheen Kaur Bhatia and Arifa respectively.
