JAMMU, Dec 22: Police arrested seven gamblers along with Rs 2.47 lakh stake money and playing cards from Narwal Mandi area.
As per police sources, on specific information, police conducted raid in Narwal Mandi area and arrested seven gamblers along with Rs 2,47,810 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Upkar Singh, son of Hamit Singh of Channi Himmat, Manjit Singh, son of Jodh Singh of Simbal camp, Surinder Singh, son of Bajan Singh of Simbal Camp, Ajit Singh, son of Gurbachan Singh of Simbal Camp, Gurnam Singh, son of Prithpal Singh of Chatha Mill, Ramnik Singh, son of Naryne Singh of Karan Nagar and Prem Kumar, son of Roop chand of Kunjwani.
A case under Section 13 gambling Act has been registered against them at Narwal police post and investigation started.
Police team led by SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and assisted by SHO Bahu Fort police station Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria and Incharge Narwal police post SI Mehmood made the arrest under the supervision of SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
