Srinagar, Mar 7: Police has arrested seven peddlers in Anantnag district and claimed to have recovered large quantity of contrabands from them in the last few weeks.
A police spokesman said the drive against drug menace was started in Mattan, Pahalgam, Anantnag town and Bijbehara areas of the district.
The spokesman said last week police had arrested seven peddlers and recovered about 790 grams of Charas, 98 bottles of codine phosphate and 19.3 Kgs of bung from them.
“FIRs 21/2014, 08/2014, 33/2014, 25/2014, 04/2014, 14/2014 and 23/2014 have been registered in Mattan, Pahalgam, Anantnag, Bijbehara respectively,” the spokesman said.
