SRINAGAR, Feb 7: Seven houses and two cow sheds were raised to ground in three fire incidents last night in Kashmir.
In Arampora village of Kupwara district two residential houses and many cow sheds were gutted in a mysterious fire last night.
Reports said that two houses and two cow sheds of Abdul Ahad Mir and Mohammad Abdullah Mir were gutted in the fire.
An official said that property worth lakhs of rupees was damaged in the fire.
A witness said that the Fire tenders and locals tried to douse the flames but couldn’t save the property.
Local residents said both the families were rendered homeless and demanded an immediate compensation from the Government.
In another incident three residential houses were gutted in an overnight fire in Kandi village of border town Karnah.
An official said that the short circuit is believed to have caused the devastating fire that razed the houses to the ground.
The local residents alleged that the fire tender reached the spot an hour after the fire station was informed about the incident.
“The fire extinguishing vehicle came with only 500 litres of water. It took an hour to reach the spot, which is barely three kilometres away from the station,” Atif Khan, a local said.
Two residential houses were gutted in a mysterious fire incident in Tengpora village of Sumbal tehsil in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district today.
Reports said that two houses of Ghulam Nabi Wani and Mohammad Abdullah Wani were gutted in the incident.
They said that property worth lakhs of rupees was damaged in the fire.
