75 players selected for PPCPL auction from Jammu, Kathua

JAMMU, Apr 12: Shakeel Beig DIG Jammu and the General Secretary of cricketing extravaganza Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL) has informed that 75 players have been selected from Jammu and Kathua for PPCPL auction during the selection trials conducted at Jammu and Kathua, under the supervision of former Ranji trophy players and senior Police Officers.
The DIG while interacting with the participating cricketers at M A Stadium Jammu said that the J&K Police is committed to provide platform in different sports disciplines to the youths of the State to exhibit their talent.
He further said that the event will be an annual feature of Jammu and Kashmir Police from now onwards.
He added that the objective of conducting trials at different places was to involve the unnoticed talent of the far-flung areas and provide them a mega platform to showcase their skill.
Over 350 cricketers including current and former national players, College, University and local cricketers have participated in the trials and the list of the selected players from Jammu included Rohit Bhat, Pardeep Bali, Raman Thaploo, Nipun Verma, Surya Mahotra, Jagandeep Singh, Rohit Pandita, Deepak Dogra, Amritpal Singh, Vartul Bakshi, Hrithik Gupta, Suryansh Raina, Ateev Saini, Avesh Sharma, Jasvinder Singh, Mohit Gupta, Satish Kumar, Bansi Lal, Ishan Gupta, Abhishant Bakshi, Rahul Musa, Rahul Sharma, Manjeet Singh, Pranav Mahajan, Prince Gupta, Habib, Rajay Singh, Sagar Gupta, Raghu Sharma, Ajit Singh, Nikhil Kotwal, Nirbay Badyal, Gagandeep Singh, Aman Sharma, Rajiv Jamwal, Abdul Majid, Dilbag Singh, Pankaj Sasun, Akash Bhalwal, Akash Choudhary, Kuldeep Kumar, Sourav Chopra, Varun Bagal, Arjun Choudhary, Ambroose, Sahil Gill, Raman Kumar, Parveen Kumar, Manik Gupta, Sunny Gill, Sidhant Singh Bagal, Inderjeet Singh, Somay Jain, Vivek Thapa, Mohit Puri, Vikram Singh, Gulzar Ahmad, Atul Sharma, Anshuman Sharma, Zahid Mugal, Khalid Akther, Sidhant Sanmotra, Sourav Jamwal, Tanmay Slathia, Amit Sharma, Sunil Sehgal, Sohan Lal, Dalbir Singh, Lokesh Verma, Lakshya Khajuria, Subrat Sharma, Ragav Sharma, Thakur Hitesh Singh, Aditya Chib, Aryan Dogra.
The selected players from Kathua include Rompy Sharma, Mayank Goutam, Arvind Kumar, Gulzar Singh Jamwal, Radhey Sham and Rohit Sharma.
The selection Committee for both venues included Surinder Singh Bagal, Vivek Sharma, Shahid Parvez, Ashwani Gupta, Rajesh Gill, RK Bhat and Rajesh Dhar.
Rajesh Gill former Ranji player and organizing Secretary of the tournament informed that the selection of the players has been completed and no more inclusion in the list will be entertained and the selected players will be placed for auction.
He further said that the tentative date of the inaugural match will April 16, 2015 and the date of auction will be announced shortly by the DGP, chairman of the organizing committee during the Press Conference and the auction process shall be conducted in presence of all selected cricketers at Police Auditorium so all selected cricketers and participating cricketers have been advised to remain present at the venue during auction.
