7th Sub Junior National IL Moo Do C’ship concludes

SRINAGAR, May 19: Over 500 martial artists, including several international players, from 20 different States of the country participated in the three-day long 7th Sub Junior National Tong IL Moo Do championship, which was concluded today at Indoor Stadium.
The National championship which was sponsored by J&K Bank and J&K Police concluded at a closing ceremony in which Secretary, J&K Sports Council was the chief guest. J&K got first place in the championship, Delhi won second while MP secured third place.
Mohammad Inam Khan, an international player, was awarded the player of the event. He was given a cash prize of Rs 10000.
Many of the top Indian players like Afrin Haider, Adnan Ayoub, Tanzeel Ahmad Rather, Mukal Chowri and Mohammad Inam Khan were seen in action during the championship which had around 20 teams, including Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Haryana, Odisha, Gujarat and Kerala. The National championship had 60 weight categories.
The closing ceremony gala started when Afrin Haider, a class 11th student, showcased self defence techniques and body flexibility to have the crowd mesmerized. Then, students from different schools, including New Convent, performed cultural items, which in no time struck a chord with the spectators.
The performance was followed by encouraging words by Divisional Sports Officer, Mushtaq Shah and Bisma Riyaz, organizing secretary of the event.
