SRINAGAR, Nov 3: The death toll due to COVID-19 crossed 1500 in Jammu and Kashmir as eight persons died in Kashmir today while 283 from the Valley tested positive taking the total Corona cases in J&K to 96188.
Those who succumbed to the virus in the Valley include six residents of Srinagar and one each from Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
The victims from Srinagar include a 45-year-old man from Makhdoom Sahib, a 63-year-old from Shaheedgunj, an 80-year-old woman from Lasjan, an 80-year-old man from Soura, a 50-year-old man from Rawalpora and a 72-year-old man from Mehjoor Nagar.
The victim from Anantnag was a 47-year-old woman from Khanabal area who died at SKIMS Soura, eight days after being admitted to the hospital.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 1505 in J&K including 1001 in Valley.
Srinagar district with 366 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 146, Budgam 94, Pulwama 83, Kupwara 73, Anantnag 75, Kulgam 48, Bandipora 47, Shopian 35 and Ganderbal 34.
And 283 people tested positive for COVID in Kashmir valley today taking the total case to 96188.
Srinagar reported 111 cases, Budgam 32, Baramulla 66, Pulwama 14, Kupwara 6, Anantnag 11, Bandipora 16, Ganderbal 21, Kulgam 3 and Shopian 3.
Those who tested positive in Kashmir today include 111 from Srinagar, 32 Budgam, 66 Baramulla, 14 Pulwama, 6 Kupwara, 11 Anantnag, 16 Bandipora, 21 Ganderbal, 3 Kulgam and 3 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 19,703 positive cases including 366 deaths and 17,980 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,070 including 94 deaths and 5,732 recoveries are from Budgam, 6,228 including 4,694 recoveries and 146 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,714 including 4,421 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,518 including 73 deaths and 4,041 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,266 including 4,003 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,075 cases including 3,848 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,607 including 3,371 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,495 including 2,368 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,223 including 2,095 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 57,899 including 52,553 recoveries and 999 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,968 including 4,347 from Kashmir division. With 578 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 88,718, which is 92.23 percent of the total cases.
Out of 2,366,741 number of samples processed, 2,270,553 have tested negative and 96,188 positive. Among them, 5,968 are active, 88,718 persons have recovered and 1,502 persons died.
Moreover, they said, 578 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 303 from Kashmir valley.
