JAMMU, July 2: Eight school children among 12 people got injured when a school bus carrying them was hit by a passenger bus near Batyada on Jammu-Poonch highway.
As per reports, 12 persons including 8 children got injured when a school bus of KV No. 1 Akhnoor bearing registration number JK02AA-8107 carrying them was hit by a passenger bus (JK02M-7029) near Bawetalab, falling under the jurisdiction of Kanachak Police Station.
On getting information, locals and police rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in police and other vehicles.
The injured have been identified as Sonia (10), daughter of Kuldeep, Shuban Singh (8), son of Karan Singh, both residents of Bawetalab, Shivani (16), daughter of Puran Singh, Aaitish (8), son of Dharminder Singh, Preeti, Anita (35), wife of Dharminder Singh, teacher of KV School, Robin Singh (11), son of Puran Chand, all residents of Mishriwala, Arjun (9), son of Krishan Kumar of Dehyaran, Rajat Sharma (14) son of Sham Lal of Purkhoo and Parshotam Singh (25), conductor of minibus.
A case has been registered at Kanachak police station and investigations started.
