POONCH, Mar 6: Nine persons were injured one of them seriously, when a Tata Sumo fell into a gorge in Chandak area of district Poonch today. The mishap took place when the vehicle No. JK12/2342 went out of control after some mechanical snag and laded into nearly 100 ft deep gorge. It was on way to Potha-Chaktroo from Chandak. The injured were shifted to District Hospital, Poonch. Three were discharged after first-aid while six were undergoing treatment in hospital.
They are identified as driver Mohd Taz, son of Noor Hussain of Chandak; Mohd Rasheed, son of Mohd Hussain; Tazeem Akhtar , wife of Mohd Hanief; Shokeen Akhtar, wife of Mohd Kabir ; Aamna Bi, wife of Mohd Din and Nazia Akhtar, wife of Maroof Hussain -all residents of Chaktroo. One of them was being referred to GMC Jammu. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
