UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: In a devastating fire in the wee hours today, nine makeshift kiosks of vegetable vendors adjoining the National Highway at Tamater Morh in Kud, were completely gutted.
The fire broke out around 4 a.m. and soon engulfed all the kiosks, which got reduced to ashes along with the vegetables and other items, lying there. Even as Fire and Emergency Department pressed several fire tenders into service, kiosks of Sanjay Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Sham Lal, Ram Dass, Girdhari Lal, Munshi Ram, Prem Nath, Pankaj Sharma and Shanker Dass were completely gutted in the incident.
The cause of fire could not be ascertained immediately while Police has registered a case in this connection.
