JAMMU, July 19: A meeting of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation, under the aegis of Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, was held here today via video conferencing under the chairmanship of Dev Raj Thakur, State President and Rattan Sharma State General Secretary.
The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the burning issues of the teaching fraternity which includes the non-payment of pending salary arrears/ DA arrears of grade-2 and grade-3 teachers, including their transparent transfer policy, improper updation of seniority list of PG teachers in various disciplines , non conduct of DPC of teachers since 2014 , etc.
During the meeting, all the members alleged that the Grade-2 and Grade-3 teachers are not paid their pending salary arrears including DA arrears since 2016 .They alleged that the concerned authorities are not paying heed to their demands and they are mute spectators.
They also demanded transparent transfer policy for the Grade-2, Grade-3 and 3rd teachers on reciprocal basis for the effective and healthy delivery of teaching-learning process.
They also alleged that the DPC of teachers as master grade are not conducted since February 2014 in the Jammu province which led to disappointment and frustration amongst the Teachers. It is for the first time in the history of School Education Department that DPC of teachers as masters is not held for the last more than six years . There is a provision in the rules for the conduct of DPC of every cadre twice a year but it a mockery towards the educated teaching fraternity, observed the meet adding that the seniority lists of PG Masters/teachers in various disciplines are not updated properly because of non submission of service particulars by the concerned DDOs/CEOs timely to the higher authorities.
All the members, present in the meeting, demanded release of salary/DA arrears of Grade-2 & Grade-3 teachers including transparent transfer policy for them, proper updation of seniority list of PG masters/ teachers in various disciplines and conduct of DPC of teachers as master grade at the earliest.
Those who were present during the video conferencing, included Rattan Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Shiv Dev Singh, Kartar Chand, Radha Krishan, Darshan Bharti, Neeraj Sharma and others.
