JAMMU, July 22: Hitting hard the BJP and its state leadership for cheating the people of Jammu, former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that the BJP has lost the moral right to go to Jammu people after betrayal after betrayal and seek their mandate.
Stating that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has “cheated” people of Jammu, Bhalla accused the Union Government of reducing status of people of the region to “fourth class citizens” even when they voted the party to power and Parliamentary polls.
Interacting with prominent persons of Trikuta Nagar Extension, Ward-55 here today Bhalla said, “The honour of people of Jammu has been compromised and downgraded by the leaders who claimed to be the champion of their cause in the region. BJP climbed political ladder raising voice against discrimination with people of this region. They ended up doing same disparity with the people who voted them to power to rule the country,” Bhalla added. “Right of our youth on government jobs has been snatched and given to outsiders despite knowing how our youth get education in troubling times of militancy and frequent border disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Coming down heavily on BJP leadership for indulging into misinformation campaign against Congress, Bhalla pointed out who provided basic facilities to the people since Independence? Who raised such a vast infrastructure like hospitals, Government buildings? Who laid Rail lines? Which party ensured Air services across the country and abroad? Who brought Green Revolution in the country? Who brought IT revolution? It is all due to the concerted efforts of great leaders like Prime Ministers Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Manmohan Singh that India is on the path of prosperity.”
Firing a salvo on the BJP leadership, Bhalla said Jammu people are now realizing their mistake committed in 2014 and 2019 as these people who were sent by the voters to raise their voice, kept mum and the public voice remained unheard for six long years. It is hoped that the people of Jammu will surely correct the past mistake and reject such opportunists and exploiters and show them their place in the future elections. It seems they have no time and commitment for the welfare of the people & country, and that electioneering, not governance is a priority for the NDA Government at the Centre.
