JAMMU, July 22: As part of its nationwide agitation against alleged privatization and suspension of Labour Laws, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) will start weeklong protest demonstrations from July 24 to 30.
Addressing a press conference here today Subash Verma, J&K BMS president said, earlier in the first stage of this agitation they have send memorandums to the President of India and have also met MPs in their constituencies to apprise them of the issue.
Senior BMS leader, Harbans Choudhary told reporters that the government is trying to suspend all the Labour Laws after which they will enhance working hours to 12 which is a human right violation. Click here to watch video
He also claimed that the Government is privatizing profit making public sector undertakings to benefit big business houses and held the central government responsible for the growing unemployment in the country.
Ashok Choudhary, BMS General Secretary demanded graceful employment opportunities and added that 80 per cent employees in J&K are working as daily wagers in government sector for the last 25 years and are not even being paid regular wages.
